First Friday at Old Soul 40 Acres August 5, 2022
Our August First Friday event features landscape photography by David Nasater. Please join us from 5-9 pm on August 5, 2022, for the opening reception for David. Food and drink specials will be offered during the reception. The display will continue through September 1.
Davis Nasater is a landscape photographic artist whose images deal with the concepts of place and time. Like many photographers, he started at a young age by taking snapshots on family vacations. It was when he saw the results from taking photos at a Kodak Photo Spot at Disneyland that he realized that there was more to the process than just pointing and shooting. Later a pivotal point came when he took a class Beyond Landscape at the Davis Art Center and was introduced to alternative ideas of landscape photography.
“I’ve progressed in my work from the classic landscape to a more intimate form,” says Nasater. “My goal is to inject a sense of time in addition to place in my works. I want the viewer to see the image as a point in a continuity of events.”
He has exhibited predominately in Northern California, and his works are in a number of private collections in the area. Nasater has won a number of awards for his works including Best of Show at the 30th Annual Vacaville Juried Art Show and the Juror’s Award at the 2018 California State Fair.
Nasater has a degree in Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He is self-taught in the art of photography and is a member of a number of photography and art organizations. He currently lives in Woodland, California with his wife Paula.
