First Friday at Old Soul 40 Acres July 1, 2022

Our July First Friday event will feature photography by Doug Rice.  Please join us from 5-9 pm on July 1, 2022, for the opening reception of “An Erotics of Seeing:  The Photography of Doug Rice.”  Food, Drink Specials, and Live Music will be offered during the reception. The display will continue through August 4.

Doug Rice was born, raised, and educated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He is a novelist and photographer.  His novels, works of short fiction and memoir include Janey Quixote, Here Lies Memory, Skin Prayer, Blood of Mugwump, Das Heilige Buch der Stille,  and others.  His hybrid works of photographs and texts include When Love Was, Between Appear and Disappear, Dream Memoirs of a Fabulist, Faraway, So Close, and An Erotics of Seeing.  His work has been translated into five languages.  He has also published in the anthologies Avant Pop:  Fiction for a Daydream Nation, Alice Redux, Poeticas do Estranhamento, Biting the Error, and others.  He began working with street photography and street portraits while living in Stuttgart, Germany, as an artist-in-residence at the Akademie Schloss Solitude.
